Slide 25

When considering atoms, we do not visualize entire electron density, but break it down into orbitals. Orbitals that have two electrons can be bonds, antibonds, or unshared pairs. Unfilled orbitals are vacant. Resonance occurs when bonds cannot be shown with distinct orbitals.

Slide 26

This slide shows the difference between the way a computer analyzes energy of orbitals and the way we analyze them. When we analyze orbitals, we hybridize them but our total energy is still the same as the computer's total energy.
